In newer versions of the macOS operating system, the iCal Manipulator Plug-in might reveal only a single event-type calendar with a UID of “VIRTUAL_APP_CALENDAR_UUID”. This is a special kind of calendar identity that correlates to an add-only perspective for third-party apps. As a result, this kind of calendar cannot be read from, and this will report an error when attempting to pull calendar events or other calendars from the system.
To resolve this, the operating system needs to be adjusted as follows:
- Open the “Settings” app
- Navigate to “Privacy and Security”
- Navigate to “Calendar”
- Find the “FileMaker Pro” app entry and select “Options”
- Toggle the “Full Calendar access” option, ensuring the “Add Only Access” option is unselected
- Close and restart FileMaker Pro to apply the new security change
